ClawdBot is now OpenClaw.
Same lobster soul, new shell.
If you searched for ClawdBot or MoltBot, you're in the right place. The project still exists. It is now called OpenClaw.
molt.host is an independent, third-party hosting service for OpenClaw. Not affiliated with or endorsed by the OpenClaw project or its creators.
What happened?
On January 25, 2026, Anthropic sent a trademark request to Peter Steinberger, creator of ClawdBot, because "Clawd" sounded too close to "Claude."
Steinberger rebranded to MoltBot within hours. Then on January 30, 2026, the project was renamed again to OpenClaw because the "molt" name never really stuck and OpenClaw better matched the project's open direction.
