Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 28, 2026
Overview
molt.host (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent, third-party managed hosting service for OpenClaw (an “OpenClaw reliability layer”), the open-source AI agent. We are not affiliated with the OpenClaw project. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website and services.
Information we collect
We collect the minimum information necessary to operate our service:
- Email address. Collected when you create an account or opt into service communications. Used to communicate about your account, deployment status, service incidents, and (with consent) product news.
- Usage analytics and advertising measurement. We use PostHog and Google Analytics 4 to understand how people use our website (page views, button clicks, and form interactions). We also use advertising pixels from Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, Reddit, and X (Twitter) to measure campaign performance. We do not send your email address to these providers.
- Payment information. When our paid plans launch, payment processing will be handled by a third-party provider (e.g., Stripe). We never store credit card numbers on our servers.
Sensitive data handling
Some data is processed only to operate your OpenClaw instance. We do not use it for marketing or analytics.
- Your OpenClaw conversations. Your instance processes messages so it can respond. We do not use conversation content for analytics, advertising, or model training. By default we do not retain conversation history in molt.host centralized systems (logs, analytics, support tooling). We may retain limited operational metadata (for example, delivery status and timestamps) to keep the service reliable.
- Your AI model API keys. Stored encrypted at rest and used only to make model requests on your behalf. Access is restricted, and keys are not routinely accessible in plaintext in day-to-day operations.
- Messaging platform credentials. Stored encrypted and isolated per instance and used only to connect your chosen channels.
How we use your information
- To provide and maintain our hosting service
- To communicate about your account and service status
- To send signup, deployment, and instance-issue notifications
- To improve our website and service based on aggregate usage patterns
- To respond to support requests
Data storage and security
Your data is stored on servers provided by Vercel and Neon (PostgreSQL). We use encryption in transit (TLS) and rely on encryption-at-rest features provided by our infrastructure partners where available. OpenClaw instances run on isolated infrastructure with strict separation between customers.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share data only with:
- Infrastructure providers (Vercel, Neon) as necessary to operate our service
- Analytics providers (PostHog, Google Analytics 4) for anonymized usage data
- Advertising platforms (Google Ads, Meta, TikTok, Reddit, X) for campaign measurement
- Email providers (Resend) for transactional communications
- Law enforcement only when required by law, and we will notify you unless legally prohibited from doing so
Data retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you request deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. OpenClaw instance data (conversations, files, credentials) is scheduled for deletion when you terminate your instance. Some backups may persist for a limited period.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
Cookies
We use essential cookies for site functionality and analytics/advertising cookies (PostHog, Google Analytics 4, and ad pixels) to understand usage patterns and campaign performance. You can disable analytics and ads tracking below without affecting the core site experience.
Analytics and ads tracking
Anonymous analytics and ad measurement help us improve the site.
Children
Our service is not directed to individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on our website or sending you an email. Continued use of our service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Open source transparency
OpenClaw is open-source software. You can always inspect the code that runs on your instance. If you prefer full control, you can self-host OpenClaw without using our service. No lock-in.
